2018年足球世界杯几月?
2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ will be held between 14 June and 15 July 2018. The tournament’s opening match will kick off at 9am SGT on Thursday, 14 June 2018 (local time) as Russia takes on Saudi Arabia in Group A of the competition. There are seven groups with four teams each. Groups A to D contain one team from the host nation while groups E to H have two nations each. The top two sides in each group plus the four best third-placed teams proceed to the round of 16 stage. The quarter-finals are due on Sunday, 30 June 2018; the semi-finals will take place on Wednesday, 4 July 2018, followed by the final on Sunday, 15 July which will mark the end of the tournament.
The current format has been criticised for its lack of knockout matches in the early stages but it is believed that this edition of the World Cup will settle scores once and for all following complaints by fans about poor scheduling decisions made during previous tournaments. No team wants to go home until the very last day of the competition so we can expect fierce battles right up to the final whistle.
In total there will be six venues spread across ten cities participating in the World Cup – Moscow, St Petersburg, Sochi, Samara, Rostov-on-Don, Khanty-Mansiysk, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan and Saransk. The match between Brazil and Switzerland in Group E will be played in Brasilia in addition to the opening match in St Petersburg. The hosts, Russia will play all their fixtures at the Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi.
All games will be broadcast live on sports channels, including Fox Sports Asia. Fans in Singapore will also be able to follow the action on radio station FM97.5’s “World Cup Show” hosted by Mark Phillips and Simon Lindsay, starting from Saturday, 9 June.
With such a wide range of options available to watch or listen to over 50 live matches of the prestigious football event, 2018 should not be missed. It promises to be an exciting month of football that keeps everyone on the edge of their seats until the bitter end! We wish you all the best of luck to your favourite teams
